4.2　General Layout

4.2.1　The fire separation distance between the separately established warehouse and the adjacent residential area，plant or traffic line shall be no less than those specified in Table 4.2.1 below.The starting and ending point of such fire separation distance shall meet the requirements specified in Appendix A to this Code.

4.2.2　The fire separation distance between the warehouse area and the plant facilities shall be no less than those specified in Table 4.2.2 below.

Notes:1　The fire separation distance between the in-plant railroad loading/unloading line and the warehouse provided with a railroad loading/unloading platform may be not subject to this Table 4.2.2.
2　The overall major facilities refer to facilities which may have adverse impact on the production of the plant or cause serious bodily injuries or death if catching fire.The Class I overall major facilities refer to facilities which may cause serious bodily injuries or death if catching fire.The ClassⅡoverall major facilities refer to facilities which may have adverse impact on the production of the whole plant if catching fire.
3　Regional major facilities refer to facilities which may have adverse impact on the production of partial units or cause injuries or death in local area if catching fire.

4.2.3　The fire separation distance between two adjacent buildings in the warehouse area shall meet the relevant requirements specified in the current national standard GB 50016 Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings.

4.2.4　Except the requirements specified in the current national standard GB 50016 Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings，the distance between two adjacent buildings（structures）in the warehouse area shall also meet the following requirements:

1　The distance between two buildings（structures）adopting belt conveyor shall be such that enables proper arrangement of such belt conveyor.

2　The distance between two buildings（structures）adopting railroad transportation shall meet the technical requirements of the railroad transportation line.

3　The distance between two buildings（structures）adopting road transportation shall meet the distance requirement for truck travelling.
